Why Does Your Antique Brass Finish Vary in Colour?

Due to the hand-made nature of our products, variations in the patina are to be expected and celebrated.
Each item is unique and no two are exactly alike. However, if genuine issues exist within the product finish, we will repair or replace items as warranted.

What about colour variation in brass pieces which make up a single product?
Variation in brass finishes occurs based on a number of factors. There can be variation depending on how the brass is formed for example between tubular brass, cast brass, spun brass and sheet brass, and also in the percentage of zinc within the brass.

We do our best to treat the different types of brass in different ways to match the colour as closely as possible.

Can I return or exchange a product if the finish is different from the photo on the website?

Due to the processes involved in finishing many of our products, minor variations can occur. It is therefore not possible to return or exchange products if the finish differs slightly from the photo on the website. Quality control procedures are in place to ensure all products sold are of a consistent, high-quality finish. In the event the finish is significantly different from the image on the website, we will investigate and replace or exchange the product at our discretion.
