A lighting driver, or LED driver, converts alternating current (AC) from your mains to direct current (DC) suitable for LEDs, maintaining a constant power supply despite voltage fluctuations. Fluctuations can cause a light to vary its light output (brightness), or cause the light to overheat. An LED Driver is vital to the safety of the light.
